In 2015, the United Nations adopted The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to provide a blueprint for peace and prosperity among the people and the planet. This birthed 17 sustainable development goals and Minka estates has chosen to align itself with some of these goals. Let’s discuss how we do this in our real estate projects.

GOAL 3: GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
Aluminium steel trusses in place of wood
At Minka Estates, we prioritise your health by completely replacing wood with aluminium steel trusses in our roofing systems. This shift eliminates the risk of formaldehyde exposure, a harmful chemical found in wood, ensuring safer, healthier homes. After all, “Health is wealth.”

Lead-free paint in our real estate projects
Our commitment to healthier living extends to the paints we use. We’ve significantly reduced lead content, which poses severe health risks, in collaboration with our manufacturing partners. By constantly refining our materials, we create safer, toxin-free environments for our residents.
GOAL 6: CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION
Access to clean water
At Minka Estates, we understand that access to clean water is fundamental to healthy living. That’s why our Ixora project features advanced water systems. This includes dual submersible pumps and pressure-enhanced delivery, that ensures a reliable and continuous supply of water to every household.
Efficient Waste Management System
A clean environment is crucial for mental and physical well-being. Minka Estates has implemented a streamlined waste management system. We strategically place waste collector bins throughout our projects to maintain cleanliness and make waste disposal easy and efficient for residents.
GOAL 7: AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY
Expansive Windows for Natural Light
In our design process, we prioritise sustainability by integrating large 2.8m by 1.2m windows into our projects. These expansive windows allow ample natural light and ventilation, reducing the need for artificial lighting and cutting down on energy consumption. This lowers costs.
Energy-Saving Bulbs and Sensors
At Minka Estates, energy efficiency is a core priority. We install energy-saving bulbs throughout our homes and strategically place sensors in areas like bathrooms, walkways, and stairwells—spots where lights are often left on. Additionally, outdoor areas are illuminated by solar-powered street lights, minimising energy use and supporting a cleaner, greener environment.
GOAL 11: SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Accessible roads for community connectivity within our real estate projects
At Minka Estates, we enhance accessibility by constructing roads from the nearest connecting route to our real estate projects where necessary. This practice not only ensures seamless access for residents but also contributes to the broader infrastructure development of the communities we operate in.
Green Areas and Tree Planting
We recognize the growing threat of air pollution, even in smaller towns, so Minka Estates takes a proactive approach by integrating lush green areas and tree groves into our real estate projects. These green spaces not only improve air quality but also play a crucial role in combating global warming, fostering healthier and more sustainable communities.
